ROSIE is a 7 yr old Sydney Silkie x Chihuahua recently rescued by the Humane Society.

This wee girl (1.5 kgs) had a bad start in life, thrown from a car when young. She was adopted by a lovely couple who have sadly now passed away within months of each other.

She needs someone to dote on her for the rest of her life, and we are looking for that special person or couple who will commit to doing so. Retired owners would be ideal, as she would be in a similar situation as that she came from. Definitely not a family dog with small children or for anyone who is away from home for hours at a time.

Because of her size, fencing needs to be watertight, with no gaps anywhere that she could squeeze through.

She must be adopted in the Greater Auckland area so we can take her back if it doesn't work out.

She gets on well with other dogs but would prefer to be an "only" as she loves curling up on a knee for as long as she can. A little walk is fine, but no marathons!

Rosie has been vet checked, is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and currently registered so we will ask for a minimum DONATION of $200 towards these costs.

If you are interested in adopting her you will need a securely fenced property to keep her contained which a volunteer from the Society will check prior to her being released to her new home.

You will also need to meet her at our foster home in Orewa as we WILL NOT send dogs anywhere and must meet all prospective new owners.

Our aim is to adopt each dog to a compatible owner. The Humane Society reserves the right to decline any dog adoption application at its discretion.

Please email or phone our volunteer for more information.
